Cut out, laminate, carry

Cards for the moments when words are hard to find

Something to hold, point at and sort. A card asks nothing of a child in the middle of a difficult moment except that they choose one.

Common questions

Questions about the card decks

What is a card deck for?

Cards do something a page cannot: they can be held, sorted, pointed at and carried into the room where the hard moment happens. A child who cannot find words can still hand you a card.

Do I need to laminate them?

No, but it helps if they will be handled daily. Printing on card stock and laminating turns a paper set into something that survives a school bag.

What ages are the decks for?

It varies by deck and each one says so on its card. Broadly: the feelings and communication sets work from about four upwards, and the dopamine menu is pitched at eleven and over.
